I am going to say this outright: I am very displeased with her behavior on MSTE with bitchqueen but ladynasty and I love the shit out of this song so that's why I translated it. Plus this song was so damn easy, I did it in like 3 seconds.

And also, Veronica figured out what she is saying backwards in this song. "I need more affection than you know." Sweet.

(1) She uses -masu form, which is more polite and quite rare in songs.
(2) There is a marked progression. She uses 'bokura' which is the youthful, more informal way of referring to 'we' whereas in the last line she uses 'watashitachi' which has connotations of being older and less close. Ooh, linguistic burn.
(3) Kind of equivalent to the obligatory Christmas Cards we give out. The point is a card that you send to people you usually never talk to in the year.

Notes:
(1) Lit. this ordinary town that I’ve gotten used to seeing. But in this sense ‘getting used to’ is like seeing it so much that it’s become stale and everyday, and ‘gotten used to seeing’ seems to me not very effective in communicating this concept.
(2) ‘Sawagu’ means more like to cause a ruckus, but I think reanimate captures the meaning better, but just think of it as reanimating in the most clamorous way possible.
(3)‘a ka sat a na’ is how things are ordered alphabetically in Japan. It goes a i u e o and then ka ki ku ke ko, etc etc. The closest thing to this in English is of course the ABCs.

Comments: This makes me really sad because it is true, the older I get the faster time flies. =((((((

I just made this a billion to parallel what I call a "numberless number" i.e. one of those numbers that doesn't have other number names in it like a hundred, thousand, etc.

(1) Just a note here, Sho says "hora" which is an interjection which means "look!' but if I added this into the lyrics it'd be a little strange, and plus in the western world we tend to point/gesture without this more often than not, so just assume that he's gesturing in the intended direction when saying this. (Ack, this is really hard to explain.)
(2) 空回り'karamawari' means literally to spin in the air but it also means a fruitless effort.

Comments: さすが旦那様。I just wish Sho could have actually written these lyrics himself, because everyone knows how nicely he writes. Oh well, this song is also good, but what was up with his pimp suit while performing this at the One concert? I'd much rather prefer him to be in like, a ruffly tux or something. I guess he has to maintain the manly quota in Arashi, but that's ok because I still love it.

This may seem weird to us because we usually get a "I love you, baby!" but the Japanese are a bit more discrete with flat out expressing these feelings. So what I meant to say is that this is the equivalent of "I love you."
(4) Yes, I know 'tsuyoku' means strong, but 'strongly embrace'? Kinda awkward, so I did 'tightly.'

(1) Bimyou is one of those Japanese words that are exceedingly difficult to capture in english.
(2) This word literally means to "reveal the secret of a trick" as in a magician revealing his secrets.
(3) Literally, it means for eyes to spin around or to be dizzy, but it means to be dazzled.
(4) Since "to be in a daze" means to "to be dazzled", he's literally saying "if I can cure you from it" which is awkward so I changed it to the more sensical "if I can snap you out of it."
(5) What he means by sharing power? I really have no idea, but it sounds great doesn't it?
(6) Literally: cause me to do nothing but be troubled. Yeah, not so romantic is it? Therefore ARTISTIC LIBERTIES!

(1) Japanese is the most ambiguous language. What with the omissions of pronouns and even sometimes half of the sentence. Therefore, from now on to improve clarity and poetic flow I'm going to add words within parenthesis to clear up some of these uber vague sentences.
(2) Literally, he says "I rely/depend on your fragrance" but that sounds stuffy and weird so I made it "I need".
(3) I had a hard time translating this. I know 危ない目にあう means to place in danger but 危ない目で? I guess with "de" it makes it with "abunai me" which I guess it's with "uncertain eyes"? I don't think it could be "dangerous eyes" because it seems a little too metaphoric? Anyone has any insights on this?
(4) Again, literally "I rely on your care/attention"

Notes:
(1) "tachiyomisuru" is a Japanese keyword. Literally, it means to read while standing, and technically it is, but this word refers specifically to people who kill time in bookstores and convenience stores flipping throught the manga or magazines without buying anything. They stand because there's usually not enough room in said stores for seats. Bascially, this is something you do when you're bored and it's meant to be seen as something that is rather a waste of time, something mundane.
(2) Everyone knows that Sakura are cherry blossoms, right? Lol j/k you probably do, but i wanted to point at the cultural aspect of sakura as a national flower and as a representative of spring, renewals, and new beginnings.
(3) "Migi he narae" means to "imitate the left" literally but it's a japanese idiom for "following suit." So he's saying to step away from the entire concept of following suit.

Ok, here's my interpretation of this song, because like most ONE songs it has extended metaphors. Arashi are basically saying that although they lost you once, they'll definately get you back somehow! I especially love the imagery of the song that they are singing which connects the two lovers together. (FYI the person singing in front of the station is them, why they use third person? because they're awesome like that). Ok, time for bed.

Just a quickie before bed! Nino's solo "Yume." Actually, this is apparently a remake of another older song by Shibata Jun with slightly different lyrics. Basically Nino switched some sentences around and omitted some lines, but all in all it's the same song.

Comments: LOLZ NINO IS SO EMO. This and Konseki really portrays him as a weepy unrequited-love type of fellow, whereas in his interviews he basically has a black cold heart. I kid, sorta. I don't know which solo song I like better, I think Konseki has more play counts on my playlist though.

(1) Okay, I know ほんでもってそんで毎度あり basically means "in addition, thank you every time" and it's one of those Japanese set phrases that make no sense if you directly translate it. So the closest thing is "Thank you, come again" because this is what people basically say to you when you make a purchase and leave the store.
(2) CULTURE NOTE!!! Osaka has been the great merchant capital of Japan for ages and is famous for it's thriving businesses and commerce. People often stereotype Osakans and greedy merchants and whatnot. Basically Osaka = BIG BUSINESS.
(3) かんでもっていったいどういう意味？！Anyway, "tsukkomi" is the verb usage of the Japanese humor keyword. It refers to a comedic duo where there is a boke who does/asks stupid stuff and a tsukkomi who usually waps him over the head and corrects him/checks him. Hina is the infamous tsukkomi of the group and Yasu is the infamous bokke. EXAMPLE: boke: The penguins must have FLOWN THE COOP! tsukkomi: (smacks him on the head) Idiot, penguins don't fly!! or something like this.

NOTES:
(1) Ugh, this is one of the hardest words to really convey in english. Basically, Sho is saying that although Aiba's really carefree and really 'whatever' about stuff he still is dependable and sensitive to others but he's dependable and sensitive in i very happy/carefree Aiba way.
(2) Ok, a bit now on all the prefixes after the names. If you know already you can skip this but this is for those who have no japanese background whatsoever.
-chan: can be used by people to address little children, good friends, or someone they want to belittle. Most of the time Arashi uses -chan to indicate fondness.
-kun: used between peers, more formal than -chan. Notice how everyone calles Ohno "-kun" rather than "-chan" because they're being more polite to him because of his age.
-san: the most polite ending, used for anyone you want to be formal with and to people older than you that you're not overly close to. Now, another use for this is to show sarcasm/make fun of someone by being overly polite, and this is what Nino does because Aiba is so stupid, hahahahah.

Ummm, if you're getting boxes with x's in them after "MUTUAL LOVE" then i'm really sorry, it's supposed to be a heart but it's not showing up properly on some people's browsers. m(_ _)m sorry;;;
